Landscape Depot, Inc. offers a complete line of organic erosion control blankets ranging from lightweight straw blankets to heavier, slower degrading coconut blankets to permanent turf reinforcing blankets.

Excelsior
Excelsior temporary erosion control blankets consists of a 100% aspen excelsior matrix stitched in a single or double net version. Excelsior ECB’s are available with photodegradable, synthetic netting (most common); rapid photodegradable, or all natural biodegradable netting. Excelsior ECBs are also available in natural or dyed green colors. Excelsior provides erosion control for a period of up to eighteen months and serves as a mulching layer. |

Turf Reinforced Mats

Straw ECBs are temporary erosion control blankets consisting of a 100% certified weed free straw matrix stitched to a single net. Straw ECBs are available in single and double net versions with photodegradable, synthetic netting (most common); rapid photodegradable, or all natural, biodegradable netting. Straw ECBs provide erosion control for a period of up to one year and serves as a mulching layer.
Coconut/Straw extended term erosion control blanket (ECB) incorporates a blended matrix of coconut fibers and straw. The matrix consists of 30% coconut fibers and 70% certified weed free straw and is stitched between two nets. It is available with photodegradable or biodegradable netting. This ECB provides erosion control for a period of up to two years and serves as a mulching layer.
Double-net Coconut is an extended term Erosion Control Blanket (ECB) consisting of a matrix of 100% coconut fibers stitched between two nets. Our coconut ECB is available with ultraviolet stabilized, synthetic or biodegradable netting. This ECB provides erosion control for a period of up to three years and serves as a mulching layer.
Turf Reinforcement Mats (TRMs) are non-biodegradable materials that provide erosion protection and accelerate vegetative growth. Their open weave construction allows for maximum root and stem entanglement, thereby increasing the vegetation’s ability to withstand higher flow velocities and shear stress. Our Turf Reinforcement Mat (TRM) consists of a matrix of ultraviolet stabilized, synthetic fibers stitched between two ultraviolet stabilized, heavy-duty synthetic nets. With a target weight of ten ounces per square yard, this TRM provides sufficient thickness and durability to yield functional longevity greater than three years. It is intended to provide immediate erosion control and long term turf reinforcement for the more severe slope and channelized applications.
